Brave New World est le douzième album de Iron Maiden, qui signe le retour de Bruce Dickinson (donc départ de Blaze Bayley) et de Adrian Smith. L'album a été enregistré en France. Le producteur clé du groupe, Martin Birch, est remplacé par Kevin Shirley.
S'ensuivra une tournée mondiale qui les conduira jusqu'à Rio De Janeiro d'où sera issue le live "Rock in Rio".

- Brave New World est le titre anglais du livre d'Aldous Huxley, Le Meilleur des mondes.
- Out of the Silent Planet est le titre anglais du livre de C.S. Lewis, Au-delà de la planète silencieuse qui est paru aussi sous le titre Le Silence de la Terre
