[change] Main Objective

I feel that the pages about Asian or Asian-related music is disorganised on Simple English Wikipedia. I am also hoping to improve coverage of Asian music, modern and traditional. This includes genres such as C-pop, enka and K-pop, and musical performers such as 5566, BoA and Utada Hikaru. The goal of this WikiProject is to bring as many as possible of these articles up to Good Article status.

If you would like to help, please say so on this talk page. Even if you can only make small improvements on one article or two, your help is greatly appreciated.

The list of current candidates for improvements is here.

[change] Particular Focus Points

  • To add a discography section for articles about musical artists or bands, with all released studio albums and if possible, singles as well.
  • To bring Start-class articles and stubs to B-class, and bring B-class ones to Good Article-class.
  • To ensure that articles have 4 or more reliable references or sources.

[change] Links

Please do not link to any forum as a reference unless the forum is a source of information that is unavailable anywhere else, for example, English translations of news or lyrics.

[change] Trivial Information

Trivia and trivia sections are discouraged on Wikipedia. If a cited fact is noteworthy, it should be placed into proper context in the body of an article. If you see a trivia section, simply put in this code to the page or section: {{trivia}}

[change] Profiles

Profile sections generally resemble fan sites. A profile is only acceptable when it does not contain trivial information, contains cited information that cannot be put into proper context and worthy of inclusion and follows the NPOV rule of Wikipedia. If you see a profile or anything resembling a fan site on Wikipedia, please add this code to the page: {{fansite}}
