The Backstreet Boys are an American boy band. The boys came out first in July 1993, and have had 12 of their songs on the Billboard Hot 100's U.S. Top 40 hits and 16 of their songs on UK Top 10 hits. The group has sold more than 100 million albums all over the world and gained $533.1 million from 1997 to 2005.
The group was together from 1993 to 2001, but didn't make new albums from 2002 to 2005. In 2005 they made an album named Never Gone. In this album they changed their style of songs.
Kevin Richardson, a member of the group, quit in 2006 and the group's newest album Unbreakable (2007) is made without him. He has not said whether he will come back. The current members of the group are: Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and A. J. McLean.
