Template:Infobox Planet/doc
From the Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can change
Also known as Infobox Small, Medium, or Large Lump of Rock, Gas, or Ice, possibly Spherical, that May (or May Not) be a Planet.
This template has been designed to hold information on planets (including extrasolar planets), dwarf planets, moons and minor planets. Some parameters will not be applicable to individual types; these parameters can be removed from the template call without any problems occurring. It is recommended that the comment in the usage section be copied to the top of the article page.

[change] Usage notes
- To display the Discovery section, call the template with discovery=yes.
- To display the Designations section, call the template with designations=yes.
- To display the Physical characteristics section, call the template with physical_characteristics=yes.
- To display the Temperatures section, call the template with temperatures=yes.
- To display the Atmosphere section, call the template with atmosphere=yes.
- For Minor planets call the template with minorplanet=yes. This modifies several headings and their wikilinks to be minor-planet specific.
- Also, for minor planets see here and Standard asteroid physical characteristics for standard formulas for computable values and sources of physical data.
- For bodies orbiting a different body than the Sun, call the template with the argument apsis=<appropriate suffix>This will substitute a different suffix to the default 'helion' for several orbital parameters. For example, setting 'apsis=astron' will change the 'perihelion', 'aphelion', and 'Argument of perihelion' labels into 'periastron', 'apastron', and 'Argument of periastron'.

[change] Microformat
The HTML mark up produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the place-name and location parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue article across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a person, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. For more information about the use of microformats on Wikipedia, please see the microformat project.
hCard uses HTML classes including:
- "adr"
- "county-name"
- "fn"
- "label"
- "locality"
- "nickname"
- "note"
- "org"
- "vcard"
Please do not rename or remove these classes.
