User talk:MarcoVD

From the Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can change

Hello, MarcoVD, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing!

[change] Blues Brothers

I moved it so that we can encourage one central complete article about the subject. Although Elwood may have been a character on his own, he is most well known from The Blues Brothers. I'd suggest that you expand that article first, and then, if there is enough information to merit it, split the character into his own article later. Here at Simple:, we have a major problem with many many short ("stub") pages which are better handled if the subjects were combined into one reference.

Another reason, is that this particular subject is very limited to the popular culture of one, or very few, countries. Its relative importance should be balanced with more global or universal subjects. -- Netoholic @ 18:31, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[change] @

I would never mind it.  :) -- Netoholic @ 18:32, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[change] interwiki links

If I can make one request, as you create new articles, it is very helpful if you can leave at least one m:interwiki link at the bottom of each article. This way we can easily link back to articles in the native languages of the readers.

Take a look at my latest edit to David Bowie, for example. Adding a good Category is also helpful. Thanks for your contributions so far. -- Netoholic @ 18:42, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[change] subpages

Please don't make sub-pages (like The Blues Brothers (movie)/Story), they don't work in the article namespace. I am going to merge everything into a single article, which is the best way to handle this. -- Netoholic @ 01:57, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I am sorry you feel I was stepping on you. Please remember this is a community effort and we all must expect that our work will be modified. As I said before, it is far better to centralize The Blues Brothers topic into a single article - until it becomes too large. Right now, it is a matter of triviam considering how many very important topics are still missing. -- Netoholic @ 02:15, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
