Musical theater (or Musical Theatre) is a kind of performance in a theater. It uses acting, music, songs, and often dance. A work of musical theater is called a musical. Unlike operas, most musicals have some dialogue that is spoken, not sung. Some well-known musicals are West Side Story, The Sound of Music, and The Phantom of the Opera.
