If we agree with this definition, then anything that happened over a generation ago must also be a Myth!! -- anon
For that matter, human memory isn't perfect, so anything that happened yesterday is a myth... I'll have a go at rewording it. -- Tango 15:35, 3 May 2004 (UTC)
I'd rather say, that a myth is a religius story explaining metaphysic problems.
- I have added a good set of working meanings at Simple English Wiktionary. I think the first, "a story about gods" is the root meaning of myth, while the others are very common new meanings. I think that this article should focuse on this first meaning (myth as in mythology). I link to Wiktionary should be used for the other (less formal) uses. --Jared (talk) 17:14, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
