Nurgle

Nurgle is a category of the chaos faction of the wargame warhammer 40000. These warriors are based around the idea of pustulence, decay, and other forms of decomposition in the living.
After Betraying the emperor in the horus heresy, they allied with the chaos god nurgle, who bestowed them with 'gifts' of rotting flesh, plagues of flies, and mutations such as tentacles. The leader at the time of betrayal was Mortarion, a faithful space marine, but on a voyage through warpspace aboard the battle barge terminus est, the chaos god nurgle gradually rotted the crew members, with an an exception of typhus, the traitor that had betrayed the ship's presence. The rotted warriors then rose up and became the legion death guard.
