[change] My RfA

Thanks!

Dear Snake311.
I'd like to thank you deeply for participating in my RfA, which came out successful just today.
I'm happy to say that I'll be more active than ever now, and that any page that needs protecting or any vandal that needs blocking will be done so (unless someone beats me to it!). If you have any comments to make, concerns or even critisism, then please leave a message on my talk page.

[change] hi

I would like to point out...

you mentioned on the wikipedia:simple talk page about how wikipedia is not uncyclopedia. It is in fact EN wikipedia that the idea originally comes from...

just to let you know ^^

Ben.(Talk).(Changes) 20:31, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] Thief!

You've been copying pages from the normal English Wikipedia. Homer Simpson, Maggie Simpson and Ned Flanders are all pretty much EXACT COPIES of the pages at the English Wiki. I don't know the policies here, but that seems wrong to me. -- 209.205.36.75 (talk) 20:35, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

After all, hitting copy and then paste takes a lot of work, doesn't it? -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 02:35, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm angry because you are a plagiarist. You've copied and pasted EXACT paragraphs from the English wiki and you didn't even try to simplify it which doesn't make sense because this is the SIMPLE ENGLISH wikipedia. Not only did you copy and paste, you did is copy sections sporadically to make it look like it was a gradual process. I created a major stink because plagiarism is a huge issue, and even if it isn't a copyright violation, you shouldn't do it. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 02:43, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

And I'm curious, you told User:Gwib that I framed you, and I was wondering how I did that.

And by the way, statements like "Well I can't believe that mother-*#&%@!! Scorpion0422 framed me because of some violation which is completely ridicious and over-expressed. Also if he is a newbie user, he shouldn't act like that. what a queer" would get you blocked at the English wiki, as would copying and pasting others work. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 02:46, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I only registered here because I discovered that you were copying things verbatim from the English wiki and then claiming it as your own work. And like I said, it may not be a copyright violation, but it's still plagiarism. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 02:50, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
And I still want to know how I framed you. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 02:52, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Proof:

English Wiki version

English Wiki version

Other articles you copied from the English Wiki include: The Simpsons shorts, List of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes, Marge Simpson and Lisa Simpson all of which are (or were) word for word copies from the English wiki. And it may not be a copyright violation because of the licensing, but it's still plagiarism, and it's definitely not in simple english. Is that enough proof that you copied versions that were originally created in the English one? -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 03:02, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

So, how did I frame you like you claim here? I can easily prove that the English wiki versions came first, and I can provide diffs to show the development of the articles. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 03:07, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] I'm done

I've already said it that I was incorrect in my original claim that it is a copyright violation, but it is plaigarism (which, as they teach you in Kindergarten, is WRONG) and you did NOT base the articles on the English wikis, the articles are basic copies, with a few words changed. The Homer Simpson article (which was an FA) contained such complex words as intolerant, dysfunctional and Aristotelian, which you didn't even try to change. Even the citation needed templates are copied (how could an article created in September have a fact tag since August 2007?)

It's obvious that you are not going to admit to any wrongdoing, so I am finished with you. However, I am going to keep an eye on this Wiki and if I see any other copy and paste jobs from the English Wiki, I'll be back. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 03:16, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

If copying things word for word from the English wiki is okay, why is there a template saying that such violations can be deleted? And, the disclaimer at the bottom says "Do not copy articles directly from English Wikipedia." -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 03:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

How can you possibly say you haven't violated any policy when the very bottom of the edit page says quite plainly Do not copy articles directly from English Wikipedia. And it doesn't matter if you've changed a few words, it's still basically the same article. And to be honest, I don't care if I damaged your reputation because plagiarists do not deserve to be administrators. The only way I am going to drop this is if you go here, admit that you knowingly and purposely copied our work, and then apologize for it. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 03:46, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

By the way, the phrase you want is "wrongfully accused". Framed insinuates that I copied your work and then am trying to say you copied from me. And finally, I am not going to let you turn this into an issue about me. You plagiarized, and I may have acted wrong, but it does not condone what you did. Working on an article takes a lot of work and research (it took me four weeks of scouring for sources and listening to 20 DVD commentaries before I got the Flanders page to what it is) and all you did was copy and paste the article and then change a few words. You changed maybe 1/20 of the words, which isn't enough in my opinion. Maybe I did overreact, I admit that, but quit feeling sorry for yourself because you're the one who copied stuff when there are several warnings not to. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 04:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

"This wikipedia doesn't have such policies you are probably imagining." Click the edit button on any article, go to the very bottom of the edit page and read the text that says "Do not copy articles directly from English Wikipedia". I am obviously not getting through to you, so I actually am done this time. You can respond if you have an urge to get in the last word, but I won't be checking here for a while. -- Scorpion0422 (talk) 04:28, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] Warning

Warning I have warned Scorpion0422 about his language. The message which you left on Gwib's user talk page is equally insulting and can lead to you being blocked also

In the message you left to Gwib you used a homophobic remark against another editor. I assume it was done in the heat of the moment. User:Iamandrewrice identifies as gay and was concerned at the remark. Can I ask for an apology for this lapse on your part. At the moment Iamandrice has agreed not to contact other editors, except admins as part of his unblocking "probation"--Bärliner 15:03, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] "Plagairism" Allegation

This problem was brought up once and dropped and then started again, directed against you. Obviously I see no wrong doing on your part, other than forgetting to make an article as simple english as it could. I hope you will carry on making contributing. --Bärliner 15:03, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] Music?

Hello,

I have noticd that you seem to be quite intrested in music. I think that both you and Simple Wikipedia will benefit from joining the SimpleWikiProject Music. We would love to have you aboard the project. So, if you are intrested, please visit the Project Page for more infomation and stuff.

Hello, in case you are wondering how I made those images, I used MS Paint. I consider myself extremely skilled with that primitive application. It's actually a few step process to merge images on Paint, your 2ndary color must be the background color for it to work. If you want more information on how to do so, you can contact me again, or you can request an image and I'll get to work on it. Thanks! -- penubag  01:07, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] RfA

If you're "weakly opposing" Razorflame, then shouldn't you remove your nomination for him? It would be a tad odd to nominate someone for adminship only to then oppose them. --Gwib -(talk)- 21:41, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] My RfA

Thank you for your support in my recent RfA, but reading the oppose comments, I have decided that I am not experienced enough to be an administrator yet. I hope you will continue your support of me in the future. Thanks again! Razorflame 22:51, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

[change] Admin?

Thank you very much for asking me. But I'm afraid I like to work at my own pace and am rather busy at other places e.g. wikia search. --Cethegus (talk) 10:16, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Seems pretty good, but I don't think this wiki would be big enough for both A and B class articles, so maybe they could be merged into one big class. Cheers,-- Lights  talk  12:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[change] RfA vote

This comment, whether you're serious or whether you meant it as a joke, comes across as quite rude. You may want to consider re-wording your vote and may want to "think before you type" next time. As someone who's had 2 unsuccessful RfA's in the past, you should know that courteous, constructive criticism would be much more appreciated than a comment like the one you made here. · Tygrrr... 02:38, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. :-) · Tygrrr... 02:46, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

[change] RfA

I do not think you are ready to run an RfA on this site yet. I have concerns about some issues with you on becoming an administrator:

  1. You have been largely absent from the Simple English Wikipedia over the last 2ish months. While you have been around, I fear that you haven't been around enough to have a successful RfA.
  2. There are some concerns with your kindness on here. In the past, you've gotten into large-scale comments that come across as either completely rude or completely mean. While I have nothing against you as an editor, as an administrator, I feel that this is completely unacceptable. The most recent case of this was your vote in Chenzw's RfA. Administrators have to be able to be kind and helpful while staying completely within the rules. I see no evidence of this from you. The two latest cases can be found here and here. I suggest that you fix this behavior first before asking to become an administrator.
  3. This next point goes hand-in-hand with the last one; I do not think that you know the policies well enough to become an administrator on this site. While I do think that you have the potential to be an administrator in the future, you would have to completely review your actions and understanding of the policies before you would be able to run a successful RfA. I would suggest reading this.
  4. I do not see a need for you to have the administrator tools. You haven't been involved in any of the biggest issues to date since I've been on here and you haven't been involved in fighting vandals. Both of these state that there really is no need for the tools.

I will add more to this later, because I don't have time to flesh out these ideas fully yet. This is an incomplete post. I will continue to dig up more links to help you out more. Razorflame 13:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Snake, I wanted to let you know that I've replied to your question on my talk page. · Tygrrr... 16:48, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome back to the project! I hope you had a good time off! Cheers, Razorflame 19:41, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[change] My RfA

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which ended unsuccessfully with 59% support. I found this Request for adminship to be extremely helpful in learning what I need to work on now and I appreciate your vote in my RfA, as every vote that was posted helped me learn a little bit more about myself and the work I do here on the Simple English Wikipedia. Even though the RfA failed, I still thought it to be an extremely successful RfA and I hope to show you what I can do now. Cheers, Razorflame 21:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Hope you have a successful RfA next time:) --§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 03:16, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[change] Colours

Hey there Snake. I changed the colours on User:Lights/Template for my userpage. Since you have that template on your userpage too, I did changes to my template and edited your userpage so that the old colours are still on your userpage. Hope you don't mind me doing this. Have a nice day,-- Lights  talk  00:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

No problemo:) --§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 03:16, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[change] My RFA

Dear Snake311, Thank you for your vote in my recent RFA even though it was oppose. I am asking everyone who voted to set goals for me before my next one. I will be putting the goals on a page and putting {{done}} next to them when I complete that goal. Do you have any goals for me? Thank you! SwirlBoy39 21:56, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
