Textual difficulty
From the Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can change
What textual tests do is give people an idea about the density of their writing. Readability tests can not tell them how easily a reader can understand the information in the text.
[change] Types of tests
A person can perform readability tests himself by counting and doing some math, or by using word-processing software. There are several popular readability scales, for example:
- Flesch-Kincaid Reading Level (Flesch-Kincaid Grade Index)
- Flesch Reading Ease (Flesch Readability Test)
- Fog Index
- Gunning Fog Index
- SMOG Index
- Spache
