Cuban Missile page
Thanks for the comment. I've been a frequent reader of Wikipedia and randomly found the Simple English version and thought it was cool. I added some more stuff to the Cuban Missile page and I will hopefully keep adding more info since there are a lot of interesting aspects to it. Anyway, if you notice any improvements I can make, please let me know.
Thanks,

Removing Content
You do know that there is a warning template for vandals removing content from pages, right? Use it the next time someone removes content. Razorflame 20:00, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Both messages basically imply the same thing. --Gwib -(talk)- 20:03, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- But people removing content, in my opinion, should get the removing content warning instead of the generic warning. Razorflame 20:04, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- Once again, both imply that the removal of content or simply of vandalism in general is not tolerated, both give the IP address some idea that he is doing something wrong and both inform any user looking at the IP address' talk page that he vandalized here at one point. --Gwib -(talk)- 20:07, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

IamAR
You need to just step back, let it go and totally ignore IamAR unless it is absolutely nessecary as an admin to deal with something and no one else is available to handle it. My first simple edits
Hello Gwib. I noted you reverted my change to the Benedict XVI article, and left a level 2 test message at my Talk. As this was my first activity on the simple WP, I can understand your reaction. I did not discuss it at the article's talk page first, agreed. However, I wish to assure you that my edit was anything but vandalous.
The content removed described a single person's comment, made in the aftermath of a mild diplomatic incident a little over a year ago, and is now completely off the radar. In addition, that particular content has been added and readded to the same articles in the main WP (where I have had an account in good standing for a year and a half), almost certainly by a protege, fan or colleague of the person quoted, merely as an effort to get that person some free publicity and/or advance their views. That is, it's spam, soapboxing, or both.
Now on the main WP, that type of material would be removed without any comment other than a good edit summary and no good faith editor would raise an eyebrow. While I stand by my position that that material is silly to have in the article as it stood, I admit this in not the main WP, and perhaps things are done differently here. Could you give me a little context as to the type of Talkpage justification is generally expected for clearcut changes such as this? I feel I can I do suspect that you merely saw me as a new user making unexplained deletions. If so, I understand and no offense taken (been there, done that on the main WP), but if not, I wish to positively contribute to this effort in a way that doesn't cause any disruption, and appreciate your direction.
You can reply either here on on my talkpage (note though that I am working on getting my username changed; I mistyped my original signup). Thanks, and happy editing. Baccyak4h (talk) 19:14, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- As I'm not an expert in this particular subject, I'm bringing in the other editors to see if anyone among them may know if this really is blatant soapboxing. Check the talk page of the article for any replies to this issue, but personally, if the "incident" did happen, then it has a place in the article, but should be written in a non-biased or informative way.
- Thanks for being so cooperative, and I hope this will be resolved soon. --Gwib -(talk)- 19:20, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- I editing down a lot of spam related to that paragraph. What I left was a basic news story. Useful to keep to show that the Roman Catholic and Muslim faiths will speak. The links to the actual information have been kept rather than allow a lot of praise for and spam by the cleric. --Bärliner 19:23, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
gwib
I know we were advised not to talk to eachother... but this has gone on too long... and needs to be sorted out, and you are an admin, so I am still technically 'allowed to'.
You can delete this message now and not reply, and it will symbolize to me that you do not wish to try to move on at all, or we can discuss this maturely.
We obviously have not ben getting on extremely well lately. And this is getting in the way of our editing.
We need to talk about this...
Ok, firstly, what exactly is it that has made you dislike about me enough to think of me as 'a pathetic waste of wikimedia space'? I ask that question sincerely, as I do not find it very nice to be honest. Also, you say how you were going to write back to me in french and see how i would have reacted. Even though I can speak french anyway, I feel from your tonality that you meant it in a mean way in order to try to prove that I am uncapable of understanding French or something. This is just further proof that you seem to have taken a disliking to me... and I am not quite sure why
I urge you not to delete this message... as I really do hope that this is something between you, myself, and I.R that can be sorted out.
I-R 23:06, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- It isn't getting in the way of my editing, since I don't make arguing with people a priority.
- To be honest, I didn't really mind your constant arguing at the beginning, even after getting involved once or twice. But our conflict originated from an argument between me and I.R.
- After the argument was over, you wouldn't let it go. You gave each other barnstars congratulating each other on how well "you handled Gwib's issues", that you would protect each other in the event of "a Gwib tantrum 2" and that you had "overcome a vandal [me]". You wrote on Tygrrs wall "try not to let it [me again] bother you too much... an admin will come deal with him if he continues." You even went as far as to "try not to look down on those with such low wit [guess who]".
- In the end, I ignored you, but you still went on, check Barliners talk page for even more quotes in which you put me down, victimized me, accused me and overall acted like a immature bigot. I'm not saying I've been totally innocent in the matter, but I didn't give barnstars to people for blocking you, I didn't write on administrators walls saying "I'd like to thank you for how you defended me when Iamandrewrice continually harassed me" like you did and I certainly didn't make a little account on my talk page of all the things you'd ever said to me that I considered to be personal attacks.
- If you've already read this far, thanks. I've mapped out the story as to why I think that you are indeed a pathetic waste of wikimedia space. From now on, think of us as Korea, split down the middle with a demilitarized zone, a cease-fire signed and a possibility of a peace treaty but only after lengthy discussions and a mutually agreed "I was wrong, sorry. Let's drop the whole thing for ever". --Gwib -(talk)- 23:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- I am glad for your decision to discuss this.
-
- I admit, I have done a few things that could have been undesired by you. However, the reason for this is of several things. You told IuseR that he was the Frozen Chosen. He did not know the term, and used it to describe himself. You then told him that it was a 'derigatory' (insulting) term. Therefore, this means that when you called him the Frozen Chosen originally, you were in fact using the insulting term on him. However, instead of explaining or apologozing for this, you then tried to frame him for being in the wrong. You also kept putting that same nonsense message on my page over and over again, in the end protecting it so that I could not edit it, just to make sure you got your way. Also, you try to argue and oppose IuseR and myself at every available opportunity, it seems, regardless of whether or not our point of view is actually right or wrong. And also, it seems that you always want to get me blocked. The last proof of this is when you say on the AN that you would take pleasure in blocking me. In my oppininion, thats a lot meaner than saying 'thank you for helping me in the Gwib case'.
-
- Lets face it gwib. Neither of us are entirely innocent.
-
- But what happens now?
- I-R 08:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- This is what happens: we stop this constant bickering. Now that you've listed all the things I did wrong and I've listed all the things you've done wrong, we either continue editing normally or both stop editing here indefinitely.
- But I would just like to state that I would indeed take a lot of pleasure from blocking you, but that doesn't mean that I want to block you unfairly. The only time I will block you is if you take one step outside of your restrictions. Maybe you should actually read what other people write instead of thinking that you are always right and woe betide you if you evade your block with yet another IP address. Don't reply on my talk page, as this issue will obviously not get resolved anytime soon and I don't want your "oppininion"s spread all over my talk page. --Gwib -(talk)- 10:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Ps. Don't put the meanings of words in brackets after them either, especially if you spelt them wrong in the first place. I know what they mean.
I Forgive you Gwib. I.R 10:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've already told you everything as to why I don't like you or I.R. I'm not going to repeat myself so stop bothering me. --Gwib -(talk)- 13:35, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- Trust me, my not being "wikifriends" with you or I.R. will definitely not affect my contributions on SEWP and it shouldn't affect yours. Stop posting here. --Gwib -(talk)- 14:35, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Originally, my first vote was weak oppose, but I later changed it to full support and co-nominated him after realizing a small mistake (not really a mistake but kind of a misunderstanding). But after several users voiced their doubt towards Razorflame's RfA, I re-changed it to weak support, but basically still a support. I hope that I would not change my mind later on. Peace;) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 21:44, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

- Besides, isn't the reason that you're indefinitely banned at En Wiki is because of your friends making accounts and posing as you? --Gwib -(talk)- 19:15, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Gwib, I have apologised and explained my sillyness on the AN, But yeah, I am sorry, I just started being a bit silly, as you can tell and got a bit carried away. And I'm also glad that Barliner stopped me, otherwise I may have got carried away even further. I will not involve myself in activities like this again. I'm sorry. - People can't vandalise if they don't have an account and its soft-blocked. No one is going to go home to make an account just so they can vandalise @ school, and if you find out that they do, then re-block it then, but for the moment we cannot make that assumption. Final Response
3 edit conflicts later...
Look, your IP address will not, and I repeat will not, be soft blocked. Your school has developed a taste for vandalism and your teachers (unlike the ones at my school) obviously don't take Wikipedia seriously.
It's not an issue of your account being compromised, it's an issue of another 82 odd sockpuppets being created for impersonation and vandalism purely. I don't believe that now or any time in the future will your school ever be able to produce a good editor.
Any reply you make to this will be deleted and viewed as just prolonging an argument that you've already lost. --Gwib -(talk)- 19:28, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I understand that there is a general interest in banning me as of late. I would like to express that I have been thinking a lot about what happened, and it did in the end sink in that I needed to edit more and talk less, and that is what i had been doing wrong. Please read my suggestion @ Tygrrr's talk page so you can see that I really am serious about trying to make a go of things here. I know I may seem disruptive at times, but I actually do understand this now, which i could not before, and hope that you will allow me, under the proposition i have made at tygrrr's talk page, to try and prove that I genuinely want to be able to become as good an editor as you. - I'm saying that you should actually start following them yourself RIGHT NOW and stop worrying about what other people might want you to do. Just follow them even if an agreement hasn't been reached! That way you can't get into any more trouble than you are already in.

"Unlike anxiety, it is used mostly to treat Scizophrenia." I don't think that makes sense--Bärliner 18:30, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're right, I was just scanning the article to see where I could clean up. Thanks for pointing it out :) --Gwib -(talk)- 18:34, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Closing RFD's
I just noticed that I closed an RFD yesterday and you had just voted on it after I had closed it and closed discussions remain on the RFD page for a while before being archived, I was wondering if {{afdtop}} and {{afdbottom}} should be imported to show closed disscusions while they are still on the RFD page. - Sorry about voting unwittingly on that, I didn't read the "consensus reached" bit. Personally, I don't think that they should be imported, as we are a small community so one or two extra votes (which is all we should get) won't have a huge bearing on the RfD page itself.
- That being said, I hope I answered your question properly. If I've misunderstood, please forgive me and elucidate. --Gwib -(talk)- 21:33, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, and you did answer my question right. Oysterguitarist 21:34, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
